I've come over all patriotic and preparations are underway for a right Royal Wedding knees up here tomorrow. I'm enjoying a bit of whimsical decorating thanks to these free printables. And Cherry's Union Jack art idea here. Bottoms up!
Spring has been capricious this year. Every time we seemed to be getting close, cold temperatures, rain and even snow have sent us running back indoors for shelter. Finger's crossed we're finally over the hump and today we were lucky enough to get some sunshine and the chance to stretch our legs outside at the nearby arboretum. Hope the sun is shining wherever you are today!
Ruby asked if we could make chocolate Easter nests for her class again this year, I'm sure her teacher will be thanking me later for the resulting sugar fuelled behaviour of 20 grade two students. Hard to believe that it was 3 years ago since we last made them for her preschool pals. I have since then, found a little shop locally which sells all manner of British goodies, including such necessities as golden syrup, hobnobs and hula hoops. Chocolate cornflake cakes were one of my childhood favourites, the ultimate retro sweet treat.
Little chickies courtesy of the dollar store. Recipe here.
I blew off the mountain of dust from my sewing machine and sewed a box. Actually it's been half finished for a while, like a lot of things on the to do list, but these past two weeks I have been very disciplined, forcing myself to finish a whole bunch of projects, including painting the powder room (downstairs loo). The sewing box is for my daughter, made from this amazing tutorial. I added a little pin cushion and a few supplies to start her off and I will encourage her to make a little needlebook. To be honest, I'm not sure she's even vaguely interested in sewing, but wanted to make her a kit, you know, just in case...
I'm Lina, a Brit married to a Canadian, living in Montreal. I'm mum to two little lovelies, working part time and keeping myself sane by sewing and other crafty related making.
May I ask you to kindly refrain from using my photographs without my permission.
Thank you for visiting!
