I bake with the children quite often. At 3, 4 (and 35) this can be quite a messy, time consuming event and I definitely have to be in the right frame of mind. More often than not I stick to muffins. One does the wet ingredients, the other's on dry. But there's always a fight about the bowl licking at the end.
Today we made banana crumb using this recipe. It's our favourite muffin recipe. In attempt to be vaguely healthy we used whole wheat flour and half the amount of sugar recommended.
Looks like fun?!!! How did they taste? Lucy x

They look lovely and I happen to have a bunch of muffin-ready bananas to use :)
You just can't beat a bit of baking with the kids - apart from a bit of solitary baking that is ;)

Yum. I love your photo...which looks like it may have caught a fighting over the spatula moment!

Mmmm - banana muffins sound fab. At our house, one gets the spoon, spatula and beaters and the other gets the bowl (and messy cuffs).

I have to tell you, I love your blog! I've just started my own and was browsing around trying to find inspiration for a postage stamp quilt. Instead I somehow found your blog (thank goodness) and just spent my entire free hour reading your blog from start to finish! crazy!
I love your craft style and look forward to reading more.

My two are 6 and 12 and even that can be quite messy...flour getting flicked here, there and everywhere! LOL. But, like you, I try and do it as often as possible, it's such a great experience for them.
