Thank you for all those who stepped up to the repurposing challenge this month - I'm thrilled so many of you have decided to join me. When you have completed and blogged your project or have advice and ideas to share, please let me know and I will post about it here. Not too late to join in - there's still 3 weeks left!
My contribution this week is the ubiquitous thrifted sheet lounge pants. Nothing original here folks, but I will tell you why they're so popular - they're amazingly comfortable and so simple to make.
I made these last night. One of two pairs for my two best friends who will be visiting us from the UK with their families in 2 weeks. In my head I'm thinking long lazy lounging mornings with uninterrupted girly chats over breakfast. The reality is that there will be 13 of us in the house with more children than adults, so no chance of peace and quiet! I used the Amy Butler In Stitches pattern again and I made simple totes with matching lining as a little gift bag to which I'll probably add a mini spa kit and a book.
Mary-Beth recently blogged about the ones she made too. Go take a peek. I love the sheet she used, such a great summer colour. Kind of makes me sad that I sleep in plain old white sheets really.
one of these days I will find a thrift sheet and attempt to make some of these... love the matching bag too

Lovely lounge pants, and great idea for a gift! I'm still wondering what I'm going to repurpose - there seems to be a distinct lack of pretty sheets in the charity shops around here!

Ooh, I love those pyjama bottoms. My current fave pair have a hole now so these look like a great idea.
Lovely little bag - sound as though you're going to fill them with lovely things too.

These are so great. Now I'm really motivated to make some for myself. New lounge pants, cup of coffee, paper on the balcony..I can see it now!

Hi, did you make the pants with their full wide-ness? I've heard of others cutting the width down a bit.
thanks~!

The lounge pants are wonderful - great fabric and it's such a lovely idea to make the matching bags as gifts for your house guests (what a lovely hostess you are). I must take the plunge and start trying to improve my sewing skills, I'd be so chuffed to make something like this.

Way to repurpose fabric! The pants are so pretty with that lovely floral. You will want to lounge all day long!

What a good idea to make them for your friend with a matching bag! And I really love the fabric you found. Inspires me to do more thrifting soon. I can't wait to see what you sew next week.

My local charity shop only has horrible sheets! Those are lovely pants, just right for relaxing on a sunny morning.
