So this is what we did this afternoon - made our own smoothie based milkshakes. My children are already big fruit lovers but this is an excellent way to get more fruit into pickier eaters. They were actually hankering after milkshakes from rotten ronnies, but I said that they could make their own and choose their own ingredients instead.
On the left is Tommy's "berry special" with blueberries, strawberries, a splash of milk and a generous topping of frozen yoghurt. And to the right, is Ruby's "flavour changer" with bananas, strawberries, peaches, milk and more frozen yoghurt. I wasn't sure if peaches were blendable, but it turns out they are!
What's your favourite smoothie combo?
These look so delicious! Beautiful photos. Is "rotten ronnie's" McDonalds? Ha ha, funny. I've never heard it called that before . . .

Frozen banana and raspberry blended with skim milk is a regular rushed morning breakfast from me (occasionally with an added spoon of instant espresso powder - I know)

I like to sneak silken tofu into the kids' shakes when they aren't looking. They never know it's there unless they see it go in! Hidden protein! These look so good and rotten ronnies is just too funny!

Rotten Ronnies - what a fantastic name. It reminds me of the Beano!!
As long as my smoothie has lots of fruit and maybe a tad of chocolate anything goes for me.

My favourite is by far banana smoothie. Take two rather nice but simple ingredients (banana and milk) and you end up with something which is far from ordinary! I'm always so surprised at how nice it actually tastes!!
