We're Ed Emberley fans here and our first introduction to his books was through our local library where we found a copy of his first thumbprint drawing book from 1977. His website is fun too and includes an excellent holiday activity page here.
His thumbprint art (and an image somewhere on flickr that I can no longer find) was the inspiration for this year's Christmas cards. A fun little activity with all the family joining in.
Done! I have never been this early with my Christmas cards before.
i LOVE it! If I were a card marker I would make them. Since I am not a card maker, I might make them anyway! Love!

Those are brilliant! I feel gift tags coming on - the cards are all made by the children at school and printed off in their 100s which feels slightly like cheating but does make life easier!

They're brilliant, I love them!!!! I'd seen something similar in a card making book, you dipped your finger in pink ink and made a little mouse out of it. The reindeers are fantastic though!!

Oh they're lovely! I love fingerprint pictures - so cool.
You've sort of reminded me that I should be sitting at the table making our cards rather than sitting here reading blogs - oops!

Oh these are cute. So I'm not a complete copy cat, I need to think of other Christmas decorations I could imitate with thumb and finger prints. A snowman on a deep blue background maybe?

I am a big fan of Ed's also. I volunteer at our library resale shop. I keep an eye out for his books-I am not an artist so I find doing his stuff removes the need to make an "arty" creation and just lets you have fun. Cute cute cards!
