Technically, I will fail by 60 photos to complete my 365 photo a day project in 2009. Realistically, I'm thrilled that I made it that far. I now have some of my favourite shots on display in my dining room and I also used them to make calendars for family gifts this Christmas too. Taking a picture a day taught me so much, not only about photography, but how wonderul it is to be able capture and record the day-to-day moments of my life as it is right now. Admittedly there were plenty of days when squeezing in a photograph was a burden and downright unappealing, but I'm glad I perservered.
The picture above never made the final cut, but looking back on all my photos in the last day or two, it's actually a firm favourite. As are these:
Definitely a successful year for photography.
What an achievement - Your photos are beautiful.

Amazing! Good for you ... maybe 2010 will be the year for me (if only 300 pictures!)

Put all together in a mosiac like that makes them look so beautiful. I bet the calendars turned out gorgeous. I want to do something like that and pray that my photos get better throughout the year. So lovely.

Ginny, I'd love a project too but not a daily one this time. I was looking on the Guardian's website and they are running a monthly challenge on flickr which I might do...or we should start our own!

Thank you. I use a Canon Digital Rebel XT a model from about 3 years ago. I bought a 50mm lens earlier this year for it which I totally love. Saving up for a macro lens this year!!!

Thanks Traci...I did an evening class in digital photography this year too which really helped. I discovered buttons on my camera which had previously gone unnoticed!

I had a bit of a year off from 365 this year, but I might try again for 2010. It's good discipline, and like you, I learned an awful lot from it - about photography and about my own life.

What amazing pictures you take and to stick with the project all year is a great achievment. I bet the calendars went down well.
Every year I say I want to learn more about my camera, perhaps next year I'll finally sign up for a course and find out what the buttons do!

Hi Tess, I got myself a pro account on flickr and joined a couple of the 365 groups. My favourite was 365 for the domestic types which Crystal from Elsewhere Living started. Link here:http://www.flickr.com/groups/992933@N23/

you are the second person that i have heard doing the 365 days, i really think i want to do that. i really realize that it might very well be hard somedays. but the memories and creative challenge seem worth it. it just is 11 days into january, which means i am already 11 days behind.
