In between Christmas and New Year is a funny old time isn't it? A time for reflection, a fresh start, which leaves me often out of sorts and a feeling of being in limbo pervades. Like many others I find it takes a while to let go of my restlessness and relax into holiday mode, eventually finding a comfortable rhythm just as it's time to start back at school and work again. I'm not feeling particularly reflective this year. I'm very thankful that 2009 was a good year for my family, but I'm itching to get on with 2010. Patience was never my strong point.
In these funny in between days, in between playing Uno, Connect4, eating, tobogganing, watching TV, more eating, reading and sleeping this past week, I knit my hurricane hat. And took photos of it using my remote (great Christmas present, thanks to hubby). I like it. It's so simple, although maybe I'm a little egg heady in it. It matches my mustard scarf (which I knit before Christmas) using merino which is so soft and snuggly. Both patterns can be found for free on Ravelry.
Roll on 2010. I'm ready.
The hat looks wonderful!
All the best for 2010!!

You do NOT look like an egg head! It's gorgeous. And I am so happy that the New Year is beginning - less navel gazing and time for plans and action - happy one to you!

Eggs aren't green! It's a lovely shade of green and just what you need for tobogganing. Hope 2010 gets off to a flying start for you.x

That's a lovely photo, and gorgeous knits. I usually try to hang onto Christmas and the decoration etc for as long as possible but I have to say that this year I am itching to just take them all down and get my house back!!!

Great hat Lina! I agree with you about the funny in-between time - but sadly now all I'm doing is dreading going back to work on Monday :o(
Anyway! HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!

Both hat and scarf are stunning - and that colour makes me think of spring. I bought two bunches of daffodils today. They brought a really big smile.
Happy New Year Lina

Your hat and scarf are lovely!
And I totally agree with you - this truly is a funny old time of year. So, since the whole month of January is about the same - takes me a whole month to get back into the swing of a new year - I am consoling myself by making all the ornaments that didn't get made this year! And your beautiful star ornament is right at the top of the list! I love it so much and can't wait to get started.

The hat and scarf are lovely (and the hat is not in the least egg-heady!). Wishing you a happy new year in 2010!
