..my garden is full of dandelions and they're so beautiful. Did you know that in French, they're commonly known as pissenlit? My mother in law blanches their leaves and tosses them in olive oil and lemon juice. Definitely an acquired taste.
I was snapping away like crazy today and managed to capture these fabulous "parachute" shots.
More inspiring dandelion photography here courtesy of Ginny. Her pictures are beautiful and are convincing me that I need a macro lens.
And for something tasty, how about spruce tip jelly from Jenny? Another inpsiring flickr friend who has recently started blogging. Go check out her beautiful blog about life in Alaska here.
Oh man! I'm so honored! Thanks for the shout out! I love these shots. They scream summery, happy fun.

i adore the images of the seeds floating... just magical!
thank you so much for the mention lina and for your kind words. wishing you a happy happy day,
warmest wishes
ginny xx
p.s. macro lenses are great but also a low f stop which it looks like you have already as your images all have beautiful soft backgrounds. my standard lens doesn't go low enough f stop wise for me sadly which is why i mainly use the fixed 100mm macro.
: )

Just lovely, they have such a sense of whimsey to them

Thanks for stopping by, I always enjoy your photographs! You're right about my lens - I have a fixed 50mm which gives me a really low f stop (love that bokeh look!) however, I can't get close up! Sadly there's no miracle lens that will do it all!!

Beautiful images - I've got plenty of dendelions in my lawn right now and I'm pretty certain they don't look so gorgeous! M xx

Wonderful pictures! Just amazing and so inspiring. I really want a camera that will take lenses, which I didn't know when I bought my current one!

Beautiful! How come you make dandelions look ethereal while in my garden they just make me swear?!

wow, i can't believe you got those parachute ones! amazing!
and for the record, I spent a half hour digging these out of my lawn today. only... a bunch more half-hours left. my 5yo has no idea why i'd want them out of our lawn.

I can see your collage framed on a wall--very dreamy photos, thanks for sharing!

I'm learning to live with them Val. There are extremely strict laws here about pesticides and short of pulling them all out (which would leave us with 3 blades of grass on the entire front lawn) I have little choice but to love them!

We try to stay on top of ours by pulling some of them out, but life's just too short for a perfectly manicured lawn I say!
