Do you ever get bored of my thrifted sheet posts? Sometimes I feel like a one trick pony with my "hey look what I turned an old sheet into this time" posts, but to be honest I simply never tire of them. This one was bought on yesterday from a new thrift store a friend took me to. It was washed, dried and turned into a shirred sun dress for Ruby less than 12 hours later.
I normally frequent just two reliable stores on a regular basis, and if there was any doubt in my mind about how much I have come to love thrifting, my heart was pounding with excitement and anticipation as soon as we arrived at the new place, confirming that I am indeed completely and utterly hooked.
This dress is much like last year's (which has since been shortened into a top), based on this tutorial from House on Hill Road. It's perfect for slipping over a swimsuit after a visit to the pool. Florence has also just posted a helpful (and very entertaining) shirring tutorial here.
Are you kidding? I have your yellow picnic blanket bookmarked, and can't wait to make one like it. I love your thrifted sheet posts! Keep them up!

Well, I'm a little jealous, because I can never seem to find any sheets at my thrift stores. :( I'm hoping for a miracle next time I go because I'd love to use one as a backing for my in-progress quilt. :D

That's absolutely gorgeous.
I think perhaps that all the nice sheets are collected up from the world over by some kind man who has made it his life's work to delight you, who then donates them to a thrift shop near you (rather than delivering them direct to your door...because he would know that the thrill is in the finding), because believe me, the sheets in our local charity shops look nothing like the ones that you keep coming up with.
And thank you so much for the link. x

You do need a sheet fairy. But I never tire of your posts about thrifting sheets (or anything for that matter). Post away!

definitely no sheet fairy here in London - no sheets at all in the charity shops.
