These were so easy and such a hit last year, and, because the children have new teachers, we made cookies in a jar again as Christmas gifts. Using the exact same recipe as last time too. What's not to love? They're simple enough for children to make themselves, the recipient can make them when they want and the packaging is reusable.
This year we made them on a slightly larger scale - a dozen in total for teachers, neighbours and friends. I bought ingredients in bulk (thank you Costco) and used canning jars that I already had. We had a nice little production line going in the kitchen and were finished in less than an hour.
The clean up (not yet started) might take slightly longer mind you.
Big thanks once again for Launder, Fold and Repeat for the inspiration and recipe.
clever idea of how to share the recipe with us :)

I actually did it for my children - instructions on how to fill the jars and then let them do themselves.

I'm planning on whipping up a batch for us this weekend too. Don't forget to click on the link for the full recipe (you'll need some 1/2 cup of butter, an egg and a tsp of vanilla too)! BTW did you ever get my email with my pregnancy questionnaire? I think I sent it to you a while back...let me know!

Thank you for the idea. As we've already made this year's presents (different homemade chocolate in the jar)for our family, we'll use it for next year.

They look very Christmassy all in a row! I got off lightly this year as my oldest is at senior school where you don't do teacher presents apparently. Phew!

You make all the yummy stuff.
Popcorn, crushed candy canes and melted white chocolate - oh my word - forget the hot chocolates.
Merry Christmas from this side of the world and coast,
Nina xxx
