This past week I have been enjoying:
Pefecting making bread by hand rather than by my inherited, rather unreliable breadmaker – using this recipe.
Watching OK Go videos on Youtube. This one, inspired by Rube Goldberg (the inventor of mouse trap, among other things) is particularly genius – such fun and the children have requested it over and over again. (Don’t worry - the first shot is red paint, NOT blood).
Reading the first two books in the Stieg Larsson trilogy. And reading this parody by the hilarious Nora Ephron in the New Yorker.
A spot of yarn shopping to make one of these.
Skiing lessons, every weekend for the next six weeks - although it was -30C on the mountain today! Brrrr!
What about you?
Like the cowl! You'd need one in -30!!!!

Oh man, thanks for the link to the New Yorker parody. Devastating and hilarious.

I am trying to get to grips with breadmaking at the moment. The River Cottage bread book explains it really well.

Ooo - I made a conscious decision to knit that infinity cowl thingy at the weekend too! Partly because of another cold snap but mostly because of the reality biting that my convalescencing is coming to an end and I need to get my ass of the sofa and kick my Glee habit. I'm very envious of your ski lessons. I think I'd consider selling one of my children if it meant I could go skiing this weekend. Will just have to settle with breastfeeding to Ski Sunday instead .....

-30! We're +31, so I can barely even imagine it. Enjoy the skiing.

-30? Really? Good grief - we thought -12 was bad just before Christmas. I love these happy lists. I find it really helpful to make them. Looking forward to seeing the cowl.

Sounds like you are having a fun packed January! Although I don't like the sound of -30! Lucy x

I have to knit the cowl...and it's all your fault ;o) I read Stieg Larsson and decided it wasn't my cup of tea. Right now I am reading Nora Ephron, editing pictures, eating soup, wishing my cough gets better and watching snow fall

-30? Well at least you have blue skies and snow...
Tried Steig but couldn't read the second one. Far too tiring. Loved the parody :D
