Ruby asked if we could make chocolate Easter nests for her class again this year, I'm sure her teacher will be thanking me later for the resulting sugar fuelled behaviour of 20 grade two students. Hard to believe that it was 3 years ago since we last made them for her preschool pals. I have since then, found a little shop locally which sells all manner of British goodies, including such necessities as golden syrup, hobnobs and hula hoops. Chocolate cornflake cakes were one of my childhood favourites, the ultimate retro sweet treat.
Little chickies courtesy of the dollar store. Recipe here.
Wishing you a happy Easter!
They are very sweet. Happy Easter to all in your home.

Yes - it's been way too long since I've made chocolate cornflake cakes! I don't think that I'd have been willing to move here if I hadn't found an import store beforehand. Life without English chocolate, golden syrup and like doesn't bear thinking about. I'm jealous that yours stocks hula hoops...
nb. We're only allowed to bring store-bought food to our kids' school. It's just not the same.
