Deviating from my normal strawberry and rhubarb jam that I've made for the past few years, although I'll probably end up making that too, this week I've made apricot jam. It's pretty dark because I had some problems with the set and ended up reboiling the whole batch, (largely due, I suspect, to the fact that I decided to wing it with my own recipe) but the end result is yummy indeed.
Today is the last day of school and if the weather holds up, I think a trip to the local strawberry fields might be in order.
Apricot jam (and indeed anything with apricots in) is a serious favourite for me. How fabulous that you had enough to make so much delicious-looking jam. I'm rather envious of it. I shall have to make do with Bonne Maman!

Jam! I think this is the year I try to make boiled jam again. It's been 16 years or so since I made any, and I would love to have a basement shelf full of delicious golden jam!

Nothing wrong with bonne maman!!! I'd really like to make blueberry jam too (blueberries are so cheap here) but you need so many to get just one jar!!!

I end up giving quite a bit away as there are only two really avid jam lovers in this house!

That looks so good! I've never made apricot jam, but now I want to.

Apricots are never cheap and bountiful enough to make jam from here. Will just have to wait for plums!

oooh lovely - apricot is my favourite jam but like Ali says, too expensive for jam making here, although looking at yours I'm very tempted to splash out and give some a go this year!

The first jam that I ever made was apricot, and I loved it (more because I made it than it actually being good). Apricots seem made for jam, and it can be used in so many different recipes.

They do look yummy! I'm so glad to hear your wing it did better than mine. Distracted & forgot how much sugar I put in, if I did it at all so I added sugar??? Once it set, I had pretty colored, great smelling brick door stoppers...lol
