When reflecting on the events of the past 12 months I was browsing through this year’s pictures on my computer, looking for inspiration to write this post. I love how digital photography and blogging have allowed me to capture and record treasured moments and milestones in our lives that otherwise would be so easily forgotten. I’m no great photographer and I don’t have pictures of every occasion I’d like to mention, but I do want to mark the end of very challenging year in some way. Here are some particularly special memories of 2007.
A visit to the UK
Our first Canadian winter
We survived! Apparently it was a mild one.
The long awaited arrival of spring
This little one has a spring in his step. Affectionately known as the “bolter”, not so affectionately, the “bugger”, his runaway antics have steadily increased this year. I know that one day we’ll look back on this phase and laugh about it…but it’s lasting a really long time.
A new house and a long hot summer
Great new neighbours, great pool and stinking hot weather!
A real family holiday
By no means our first, but the first that I think the children will really remember well and the first as parents that we were thoroughly able to relax and enjoy without sleep deprivation!
The great outdoors
We camped. We canoed. We’re Canadian. (Well…they are)!
Sibling love
Only 19 months apart, they don’t remember a time when they weren’t with each other and, for the most part, my two little lovelies are firm friends. 2007 saw their bond continue to grow. I love that they take such great care of each other. Long may it continue little ones!
8 years and still going strong
Nothing more to say except this man is my rock.
Precious time with Grandparents
Preschool fun
Friendships
I've met some amazing women since moving here 18 months ago. We have wonderful new and fabulous old friends in our lives to whom I am always deeply grateful. My two best friends of University days are visiting us this summer with their families and I'm excited beyond words!
We’ve had a lot of upheavals and change in the last 2 years, some good, some exciting, some stressful. Thank you 2007. You’ve been an eye opener, a learning curve and a roller coaster ride. Bring it on 2008!
